Club Histories

We have helped a number of clubs celebrate their centennial or other important anniversaries—25 years, 50 years, 75 years, 108 years, you name it—by producing informative and elegant club history books. These books help to mark an important milestone, while at the same time uncovering and preserving the history of the club. Long-time members proudly view club history books as important showpieces, while new members appreciate the opportunity to learn about the club they've just joined.

In 2004 we completed three such projects after working as long as five years with club officials, historians and committees. The books we produced for the Abenaqui Country Club in Rye, New Hampshire, the Country Club of Pittsfield in Massachusetts and The Springhaven Club in Wallingford, Pennsylvania were enthusiastically received at each club, pleasing the members and our associates. In 2006, In 2006, we completed our ninth club history project, producing a 192-page book for the Philmont Country Club outside of Philadelphia. Many long-forgotten details of the club’s history were revealed during our research and the members took great pride in the finished product. We are currently working with Whitemarsh Valley Country Club in Philadelphia for a volume to be completed in 2008 and the Dedham Country and Polo Club for their celebration in 2010.           As professional writers and editors with a wealth of specific experience in this field, we can ensure that your club history is produced on time and accurately captures the history of your club. Too often, the process of creating a club history book becomes bogged down in committee, or put off as members volunteering to undertake the project become caught up in other pursuits. This can lead to a club history book being produced years after the anniversary, or not at all. And because this is essentially a once-in-a-lifetime project, producing a substandard history book can haunt a club for decades.

Typically, we handle all aspects of producing a club history—from research to writing to design to delivery of the final document for printing. We have unmatched experience in conducting research and can help separate fact from folklore over the history of a golf club. We've produced a range of club histories, from smaller, soft-cover booklets, to larger, color hard cover books, depending on the club's budget and wishes.

We would be happy to provide samples of our work, reference contact numbers and estimates, or to schedule a time to talk in more detail. In the meantime, best wishes as you continue to plan for your upcoming celebration.
